Exploring our mission

We are on a dynamic journey to transform the coffee industry, focusing on social, environmental, agricultural, and genetic innovation.

Our mission is to foster sustainable development and create lasting positive impacts in coffee-producing regions worldwide.

  • We are dedicated to uplifting coffee-growing communities by improving their living standards and advancing their level of development. We believe in the power of connection and collaboration. By linking farmers with roasters, cafes, and consumers around the globe, we build a global community that supports the entire coffee supply chain from farm to cup. This includes supporting education, healthcare, and infrastructure projects, ensuring a holistic improvement in the quality of life. Through these efforts, we aim to create a more interconnected and supportive coffee community that thrives together.

  • We are committed to protecting our planet and promoting biodiversity. Our environmental initiatives focus on supporting diverse ecosystems through agroforestry systems. This involves integrating coffee production with the planting of original species of trees, recreating balanced and sustainable environments. By doing so, we not only enhance coffee quality but also contribute to the restoration of natural habitats. We actively work to reduce our carbon footprint, promote organic farming practices, and encourage the use of renewable resources in coffee cultivation.

  • Innovation in agriculture is at the heart of what we do. We support organic methods of coffee production, emphasizing the importance of crop diversification. By cultivating a variety of crops within coffee ecosystems, we enhance soil health and increase resilience against pests and diseases. Our approach respects the historical and ecological contexts of coffee-growing regions, ensuring that traditional practices are preserved while introducing modern, sustainable techniques. This blend of old and new results in specialty coffee that is both exceptional in quality and environmentally friendly.

  • In the face of climate change and plant diseases, we see hybrid coffee varieties as a beacon of hope. We are at the forefront of genetic research, developing hybrids that are resilient to leaf rust and other threats. Our goal is to create coffee plants that not only withstand these challenges but also produce high-scoring, unique cup profiles. By combining strength and resilience with superior taste, we uplift the value of coffee and ensure its future. Our research is driven by a commitment to sustainability and a passion for excellence in every cup.

  • Project 001 – Impossible Forest

We're revitalizing Impossible National Park by reintroducing indigenous tree species to selected coffee farms. This reforestation project aims to restore the natural ecosystem that once flourished in the park. Together, we're nurturing biodiversity and supporting sustainable coffee production.

  • Project 002 – Arhuacos

The main focus is on empowering the Arhuaco tribe's microbiologists in Colombia. We aim to provide them with essential equipment for their research on organic fertilizers and compost. By supporting their scientific endeavors, we foster sustainable agricultural practices, which will later be published publicly.

  • Project 003 – The Frogs

Together with university experts, we're helping the endangered black-eyed frog, Agalychnis moreletii, who became the symbol of our EUDR coffee certification. By introducing agroforestry systems based on indigenous tree species, we are boosting the frog population and fostering a thriving, biodiverse environment.

  • Project 004 – Hybrida

The Hybrida project is dedicated to researching and identifying the most resilient and high-quality coffee hybrid varieties. Located at Guanacaste Farm, this initiative aims to find hybrids that are rust-resistant, climate-resilient, and possess excellent cupping scores and flavor profiles.

Agalychnis moreletii

Agalychnis moreletii better knows as the black-eyed frog became the symbol of our Impossible project as well as the EUDR coffee certification.

By introducing agroforestry system based on the indigenous tree species of the Impossible Natural Park, we were able to promote the population of the frogs that are threatened with extinction in other regions.
